English Journal of Japanese Society for Theatre Research (EJ-JSTR): Call for paper

Call for paper and contribution: English Journal of the Japanese Society for Theatre Research (EJ-JSTR):
EJ-JSTR is an e-journal available on the Japanese largest academic portal site “J-Stage”. The next issue of EJ-JSTR is scheduled to appear on March 31, 2023. The editorial board calls for the following papers and contributions:
1) Papers
Papers on any aspect of global theatre and performance. Acceptance of submitted papers will be determined upon a double-blind peer review. Papers should not exceed 6,000 words, including notes. Note: An English native speaker check of the manuscript is not required prior to the peer review.
2) Book Review
Reviews of books concerning global theatre and performance that have been published in the past five years (2017-). Reviews may be from 1,000 to 5,000 words. Note: An English native speaker check of the manuscript is not required prior to the peer review. Acceptance of reviews will be determined by the editorial board. Lastly, notwithstanding the above, reviews of books published before 2017 may be accepted if considered particularly significant.
3) Performance Reviews
Review of performances (theatre and performance) produced between 2018 and 2022 which are relevant to Japan (author, company, theme, etc.). Reviews should be from 1,000 to 5,000 words. Note: An English native speaker check of the manuscript is not required prior to the peer review. Authors may accompany their articles with photos and short movies (a few minutes long) on the condition that the copyright is cleared. Acceptance of reviews will be determined by the editorial board.
