■ENGLISH JOURNAL OF JSTR

English Journal of Japanese Society for Theatre Research (EJ-JSTR): Extension of Call for paper and contribution

EJ-JSTR is an e-journal available on Japan’s largest academic portal site “J-Stage”. The next number of EJ-JSTR is scheduled to appear on March 31, 2021. The editorial board calls for the following papers and contributions by September 30, 2020 (All submissions must be by members of the Society, or invited as special guest contributors):

  1. 1) Papers

Papers include English translations of existing papers written in Japanese or other languages . Paper should not exceed 6000 words including notes. In case the author is a non-English native speaker, a native check of the manuscript prior to submission is required. The adoption of submitted papers will be determined upon double-blind peer review.

  1. 2) Book Review

Reviews of books concerning theatre and performance published in the past five years (from 2016 to 2020). Reviews should be from 1000 words to 5000 words. In case the author is a non-English native speaker, a native check of the manuscript prior to submission is required. The adoption of submitted reviews will be determined by the editorial board. Lastly, notwithstanding the above, reviews of books published before 2015 may be accepted if they are considered significant.

  1. 3) Stage Review

Review of stages (theatre and performance) produced between 2018 and 2020 which are relevant to Japan (author, company, theme, etc.). The review be 1000 words to 5000 words. In case the author is a non-English native speaker, a native check of the manuscript prior to submission is required. Authors can accompany their articles with photos and short movies (up to three minutes) once the copyright is cleared. The adoption of submitted reviews will be determined the editorial board.
